I've done my fair share of graphic art as a qualified commercial artist through the years. And if your thinking along the same track.

What is graphic art designs?

Graphics are depicted as visual presentations on some sort of surface such as walls, a computer screen, stone, canvas, paper, to brand, inform, illustrate, or entertain.

Now the areas in graphic art designs are a bit blurred, as they cross over to different areas such as commercial art. So we would be looking at areas in graphic art designs such as:

Drawings
Line Art
Numbers
Symbols
Geometric patterns and designs
Maps
Typography
Engineering Drawings
Photographs
Graphs
Diagrams and all manner of other imagery

Seems like quite allot doesn't it, you would even add illustration to this area as well.

Graphics can be functional or artistic; the latter can be a recorded version, such as a photograph, or an interpretation by a scientist to highlight essential features, or an artist, in which case the distinction with imaginary graphics may become blurred.

Uses of Graphic Arts Designs

Graphics being visual elements, are often used to point readers and viewers to particular information.

Much of this work involves publicity as business, without us companies could not run as they do and visionary is the most powerful element that the business world has when it comes to enticing peoples interest, thus to buy.

We are looking at business areas such as:

Political
Education
Film and Animation
Advertising
Design

When I first studied as a Commercial Artist, we learnt everything, even to drawing up all our letters by hand. Now you have the computer that has taken over this side of things.

So much has changed, but when it comes to art and design ,the advertising world has put allot of energy into getting it right; what people like to see, what catches their attention to what works best for different cultures.

It is almost a science, and it all works to one common goal, to get people interested in what is being said and what they what the companies want to sell to the public.

Even if they don't need something, more less just want it.

When you go into a shop, don't you go and have a look at the pretty packaging first, rather than plain packaging. See its design and enticement, that's Graphic arts design.
