Computer Arts and the Artist of today

Computer Arts:

Art is all around us, and as artists, we have broadened our abilities to the futuristic "Art with Computers".

Computers are an every day part of our lives now, so it didn't take long before art programs came into their own, and what sort of programs there are out there now, and getting better as technology progresses.

As this is an art site, we can not go past this area of our "art and the computer", as computers have taken much of the load in business and technology, so why not art. I wouldn't have thought that a computer made of metal and chips could achieve textures and grain like artificial  intelligence, when applying to a graphic surface. But there we are, it has been done.

From drawing tablets that have given us artists more flexibility, we can in fact use our graphic pen and tablet like we would with our own pencil on paper, and also brush to spray paint.

I wouldn't say that this form of computer technology will ever replace traditional forms of art in drawing to painting, and I am glad it never will as far as I am concerned.

As what we do with our brushes and the texture of the canvases that we can feel beneath our hands will always be the best form of creating art known

. But computer art has its many advantages and we extend our capabilities to the computer world as artists of our time, in order to be flexible.

Now some graphic artists use computer art solely for their work, they are different sort of artists, and they have spent many hours learning what computer software can really do, bringing forth great works of art.

The movie world and computer games are brought to life with these sorts of graphic artists, and we can also use computer software for our own needs.

From changing the art we already have, to extending that art in so many different ways. So lets see just what there is to offer in the word of the "computer in art " and what could benefit us as all round artists.
