Realm of the Pet! looks at the myth of the horse that is the Centaur

The horse has taken many forms in the past, one being no more prominent than the myth of the half man; half horse form.

Upon seeing these unusual sights for the Indian, never seeing the horse before in there lives, must have seen man and horse as one. Therefore thinking that the creature must have been some sort of phenomenal creature, and here was the creation of the Centaur. Through the half man half horse was also depicted in mythology of the Greeks.


There has been many forms of art that have depicted of this creature over the course of history.

As you can see depicted here in this pen and Ink sketch, the beast has abducted a woman and is taking her away as his own. They were depicted as common place where they would steal and abduct women from normal society, in their lusty ways.




And here is a water colour painting of a different abduction.

Also it has been depicted in sculpture, some being bigger than life size, leaving the myth overwhelming to look up at such a powerful sculpted life like form, towering up towards the skies.




Even though the creature is a myth, as we know it, I am sure the woman of today may have thoughts of being carried away by on of these half man, half horse warriors are only the stuff of dreams.


It was also shown as a fighter in art, shown in sculpture, relief and paintings alike, as shown here in some sculptures and relief's.
