Big Cat Art
Big Cat Art: The Big Cat in art is a magnificent animal, their strength and agility just leaves me in wonder. I am sure when you have seen these cats on television it is a mesmerizing thing to see such a powerful and skilled beast in front of you. Cousin to our smaller counterparts, the house hold cat. They also hold a bond with us, not in the way our smaller feline friends do. These cats are a power house! Art has shown their agility and strength, their fighting and hunting has burst onto our canvases and into our sculptures. If you have never done any such art as the big cat, this is going to be your chance. They not only make a good subject, this animal teaches us allot about ourselves, the power of our own wild spirit and how we want to portray them. It is an exercise in art that I want you to take on. "The big cat is going to bring out the wild in you". Just don't jump into the canvas yourself, because you may become entranced within their will upon your own thoughts. I am going to take you through many different styles of big cat art on canvas and in sculpture, as we go through these lessons. "It is the artist who is truthful and it is photography which lies, for in reality time does not stop, and if the artist succeeds in producing the impression of a movement which takes several moments for accomplishment, his work is certainly much less conventional than the scientific image, where time is abruptly suspended".-Auguste Rodin Working with art on canvas, you are in a sense, working in one dimension, Yet; when working with sculpture you are working in a thousand dimensions.
