Art Books

Art Books:
I have chosen books that are well worth getting for your
"Artist Library". Every artist
always has their own stash of books that they can refer back to when needed.
Stacked on their book shelves..........
You should see my library......
Whether it be references of great artists work, to
historical art references. I also have built up my library of other art
lesson books. I know sometimes I don't read everything the books I have to
say. Though they are there when I have different projects come up, and need
these books for inspiration and lessons myself. Even a refresher.....
If I need ideas or just need to read in detail about
other techniques. I go to my library.
As I said... you never stop
learning.
I have only chosen the books that I would buy myself, and
put on this site for you. So, you will find them scattered around the site
in their relevant pages. Though I thought "what if
you cant find it quick enough, and you want to have a look at the book
again". So I thought I would devote a page to all the books in
one area as well, so you can just browse and compare them.
I am always on the look out for books that I feel will
benefit my work now and in the future. So just don't buy any book out there.
I have selected the sort of books that are going to be work the money, and
that are relevant to this site.
So treat this page as your library, and as I find quality
books, I will keep on adding them here. So your library begins
too........
Remember to choose the books of the medium you want to do.
whether it be painting in oil, watercolor or drawing. You will also see that
you can cross-reference some of these books as well.
Drawing Lessons from the Great
Masters:
This book follows the drawings of the "Old Masters", they
are an inspiration to us all. And every artist should have a reference book
to these great artists in their library. I have one and am always looking
back on it.
Drawing And Painting Animals:
The drawing and painting of animals. Whatever animal you are
thinking of, as your subject, having a reference book on all animals is a
good idea.
Drawing Wildlife:
Here's another good book on drawing animals. I recommend
this book. There is allot of good ground work to do. And this book will give
you the ideas.
Keys to Painting Fur and Feathers:
Painting references for fur and feathers will be good, to
use as a constant reference whilst painting your animals. This book is no
light-weight, detailed, and gets straight into detailed work.
Wildlife Painting in Watercolor:
Watercolor is not an easy medium to learn, though deciding
to have a go and try watercolor is a good idea. This book covers the steps
of watercolor wild wildlife. And that's what were aiming for here.
Painting the Faces of Wildlife:
Whatever study of faces you do, whether it be people or
wildlife. You can never go past a good book instructing you on faces. As the
subject alone is not easy, so good tuition and ideas are always an
advantage.
Painting Wildlife Textures:
Another good book, focusing on the varied and rich textures
of our wildlife. Texture brings forth life to paintings and richness.
Certainly a library edition consideration.
Wildlife Painting Basics:
Wolves are focused broadly in this book, and as wolves are
very popular to many artists. This book will concentrate on helping you get
the basics of painting. Painting is liberating, and such books
focusing on wildlife, is better than getting a book that concentrates on
everything. This way you get the focused information you want. I find
focused books are a necessity for artists libraries.
